Kleť - the highest mountain in the area, climbable (for those who practise sports occasionally - ca. 45 minute-walk on a rocky path under the chairlift, or you can use the chairlift as such, which will take you to the top, but please note that the chairlift does not operate daily - for more information go to lanovkaklet.cz). There is a restaurant at the top (usually open from Wednesday to Sunday), a lookout tower (permanently accessible - through a payment turnstile) and an observatory. Sturdy footwear should be worn (or ideally, hiking boots in winter). Parking is possible directly for fee in the carpark under the chairlift.
Sports and relaxation complex Hluboká nad Vltavou (10 km) - Sports complex with a rope park, refreshment establishments, a large playground for children and a golf course. Can be reached by an enjoyable cycling path from Budějovice, leading along the river. The surface of the cycling path is suitable also for in-line skates or prams.
